Every Romeo Gelato customer leaves with a smile. Serve our authentic Italian gelato with local organic milk, seasonal fruit and international ingredients like Sicilian pistachios, Madagascar vanilla and French chocolate. We are looking for enthusiastic, mature, responsible servers for our Hood River Waterfront location to work this summer, starting in May. Servers will also assist in gelato making. Candidates with customer service experience, and those interested in culinary arts strongly preferred.
Starting at $14.50 / hour + $15 – $20 / hour in tips
Gelato Maker
Artisan skill, flavor, the origin of ingredients, culture and history. Come see where they meet and learn the artisanship of gelato making with Romeo Gelato. We’re looking for budding culinary artists who want to join our small, seasonal family business and learn the traditions and skills of artisan gelato making and how to manage professional gelato production. If you are keen to learn, have a love of the culinary arts and food science, commercial kitchen experience and problem solving skills, we want to welcome you into our small family business.
Our chefs make gelato from scratch, constantly seeking and using the absolute highest-quality ingredients. They use food science knowledge and practiced and refined judgement in our modern kitchen workflows and processes. Chefs also progress to management and training of support staff. Compensation is tiered and increases quickly as you master distinct skill levels and responsibilities as you make your way to Gelato Chef. Beginning Chefs work a minimum of 30 hours per week with starting pay of $18/hour plus tips. Experienced Chefs begin at a higher pay scale.

We have a warm, welcoming and supportive close-knit community team who work in our new gelateria kitchen in Mosier and our waterfront cafe in Hood River. We are artistic, scientific, international, and local. You will be trained by our Italian gelato masters, and there are abundant opportunities for learning culinary skills and cultural history.
